We visited at local library branch with our collection of Modular Robotics Cubelets today and our visitors made some nice working robot creations during the workshop. Children experimented and tinkered with these robot blocks to model basic robot Sense-Think-Act-Power behavior. They made simple robots that ran away from their makers, followed their makers, stopped just before falling off the edge of the table, beamed a light and a rotating beacon in response to an approaching or receding object. More complex robot creations provided both motion and beacons each independently triggered by an object. The participants explored ways to change direction of motion and different sensing modes. Participants are hoping to make part two of the workshop scheduled for June.
