Children and families of all ages enthusiastically participated in our robotics workshop featuring KinderLab Robotics Kibo robots on July 25, 2018 as part of a public library’s long-term STEM enhancement program. This unique robot, designed primarily to help younger children learn how to program simple robots from kits without computers or assembly, also appealed to older student attendees. All robot enthusiasts explored a wide range of robot behaviors using different snap-in robot accessories and built-in Kibo scanner. Programs were assembled scanning Kibo blocks imprinted with barcodes that gave the robot instructions. Participants enjoyed success with their robot tasks and a great sense of accomplishment while building their confidence in a technology with which they had little or no experience.
